FLU SEASON IS COMING

Get your Flu Shots

There are many options for getting your flu vaccine this year.

Kittery School District:
Kittery Schools will be offering the vaccine to students and staff.
Mitchell Primary School – October 15th from 8am to 10am
Shapleigh Middle School – October 15th from 10am to 12pm
Traip Academy – October 17th from 1pm to 3pm

Local Pharmacies:
Rite Aid and CVS. Age restrictions may apply. Insurance is needed.

Physician’s Offices:
Many area primary care offices are offering the vaccine to patients this year. Please check with your provider for more information.

York Hospital Walk-In Care:
Please note: the nasal vaccines will not be available.
  • Berwick Walk In Care:  Mon-Fri 8a-6p; Sat & Sun 8a-2p,  
  • Kittery Walk In Care: Mon-Fri 8a-6p; Sat & Sun 8a-4p
  • Wells Walk In Care : 7days 8a-8p,  
  • York Walk In Care: Monday-Friday 7a-7p, Sat/Sun 7a-5p

Prevent the Flu
- Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough and then immediately throw it away.
- Wash your hands frequently with soap and water. Alcohol based hand sanitizers are also effective.
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth.
- Stay away from sick people.
- If you have flu-like symptoms, stay out of public for 24 hours after your fever is gone.
- While sick, limit contact with others to prevent spreading it.

Recognize Symptoms of the flu

-       Headache
-       Fatigue (extreme tiredness)
-       Cough
-       Runny or stuffy nose
-       Muscle or body aches
-       Sore throat
-       Sometimes vomiting (more common in children than adults)
-       Sometimes diarrhea (more common in children than adults)
*It's important to note that not everyone with flu will have a fever.
